SAFETY NORMS :

SCHOOL SAFETY PROCEDURES

ENTRY/EXIT :

All school gates are kept closed during school hours. Parents and visitors are allowed to use only the main gatefor entry/exit purposes. No person can enter the school without scrutiny. Below are the processes followed by us, for Student, staff, parents and other visitors entering the School.

FOR STUDENTS :

  • * Daily attendance of students is recorded by the class teachers at the beginning of the day, after lunch break and before departure.
  • * In case of early departure, student is issued a slip, which is to be submitted at the exit gate.
  • * Students are allowed to enter/exit only through the main gate.

FOR STAFF :

  • * A record of all staff reporting on duty is maintained through Attendance Register, recording both in and out times.
  • * Physical and baggage check of all Service staff at all entry and exit points is done.
  • * In case of early departure, staff is issued a slip, which is to be submitted at the exit gate.

FOR PARENTS :

  • * Parent Pass - Each parent has been issued a Parent pass with photographs and the same needs to be carried while visiting School for any purpose.
  • * Visitor Slip - For all visitors, including parentsentering the School without prior appointment, a visitor slip is issued to them, then only the entry is allowed in the School. The slips with the authority’s signature are submitted at the gate before exit.
  • * Parent Appointment Slip - For special meetings other than the PTC(Parent Teacher Conference), with School teaching staff, a parent appointment slip is issued by the staff, to the parent. The same needs to be shown at the School main gate for entry.

FOR VISITORS :

  • Visitor Slip - For visitors entering the School, a visitor slip is issued to them and only then is their entry allowed. The slips with the authority’s signature are submitted at the gate before exit.

SCHOOL ENTRY POINTS AND INTERNAL MOVEMENTS :

The School has 11Security staff including day and night shifts.Main gate is manned by minimum 2 personnel in all the shifts, and the side gates are manned by one security guard each, in all the shifts.

FOR STUDENTS :

  • * Students are directed to be in their respective classrooms and movement to any other area should be under the direction and knowledge of their respective class teachers.

FOR STAFF :

  • * Access of staff to areas other than their respective work areas is prohibited. Unnecessary movement in any area by unauthorized personnel is totally restricted.

FOR PARENTS :

  • * Parent’sentry is allowed only through the Main Gate. Once entered, the parents need to wear the visitor ID Card and are given access only to the venue mentioned in the appointment slip or as directed by the Teacher.
  • Unnecessary movements in any other area, is totally prohibited

FOR VISITORS :

  • Visitor entry is allowed only through the Main Gate. Once entered the visitors need to wear visitor ID Card and are given access only to the venue mentioned in the appointment slip or as directed by the Teacher.
  • Unnecessary movements in any other area, is totally prohibited.

CCTV SYSTEM :

  • * The School has 22 CCTV cameras at all critical areas of the premises.
  • * CCTV equipment is maintained regularly and it is ensured that the footage is viewed regularly by the Management.

MEASURES TO REDUCE HAZARDS THAT RISK SAFETY OF CHILDREN :

  • The School Staff is responsible for vigilance, maintenance and up-keep of a safe environment for students and to ensure safety from various risks.
  • * Each floor has one floor peonand one toilet cleaner, per building.
  • * There are toilets dedicated for male and female service staff. They are strictly not allowed to use student’s toilet.
  • * Service staff has staggering timings for tea break and lunch break, to ensure that the areas are manned at any point in time.
  • * Teacher patrolling is done during arrivals, departures, lunch breaks and transition period, to reduce student bullying and physical accidents.
  • * Movements of students to lab areas/sports areas/auditorium, is supervised by the respective teachers.
  • * The school ensures that no food/material/water etc. is passed on through other students or other parents at the gate, in case students forget to carry any of these. In such situations, students avail school canteen facilities.
  • * School has aHealth Care Centre(HCC) to ensure that timely first-aid is given to the Students.For emergency cases, School has an emergency vehicle facility to rush the student to Hospital.
  • * School PTA(Parent Teacher Association) members provide regular feedback and are in regular touch with the School Management. The suggestions are looked into for necessary action.
  • * The School Admin and Management take care of Canteen, Safety, Electricity-related risks, Storage, Gas-related risks, Water-related risks, Fire-related risks, Safety of glass installations, other physical obstructions and structural risks and preparedness for Force majeure calamities.

SAFEGUARDS RELATING TO STAFF :

  • * The Admin office maintains a record of all Staff, which includes their basic information and supporting documents.
  • * The police verification documents of the contract staff is maintained by the service providers and a copy of the same is furnished to the School authorities.
  • * Identity cards : All school staff (permanent/contract) and the students have been issued photo identity cards which are displayed while on the premises. Each service staff is in their respective uniforms when on duty.
  • * The school maintains contact numbers of both parents in its records as well as details of siblings in the school. Additionally, emergency contacts are also maintained.

ENSURING SAFETY OF CHILDREN USING SCHOOL BUSES :

  • * Every bus has one adult female attendant in the bus compulsorily. It is ensured that the female attendant is present in the bus from the first boarding to the last drop.
  • * Every bus has a first-aid box in it, for any emergency.
  • * At dispersal time, children fromNursery to standard 4 are accompanied by the Class Teacher till the respective lady bus attendant takes charge.
  • * Children of Class 4 and below are handed over only to the parent or authorized representative upon showing the Parent pass, without which child is not handed over under any circumstance.
  • * It is solely the responsibility of the parents who send their wards to school by private vehicles/vans (parked outside school premises). School is not responsible for these students who use private van facility once they have left the school premises.

EDUCATION & AWARENESS BUILDING :

    FOR STUDENTS :

  • * Principal, Counselor and teachers conduct QCT Sessions(Quality Circle Time) to create awareness in Students, on age-appropriate topics.
  • * Students are educated to approach their teachers, counselors, parent or any other trusted family member on any incident that requires immediate intervention
  • FOR STAFF& PARENTS:

  • * Principal and Counselor conduct Sessions to create awareness amongst teaching staff and parent fraternity about the risks involved with regard to child safety and simple preventive measures that can be taken to reduce these risks.
  • * Safety talks are regularly conducted for the service staff and non-teaching staff, to reinforce the importance of Student safety.

COUNSELOR :

The School has a counselor, that handles student behavioral and learning disability problems.

    FOR STUDENTS :

  • * The Counsellors build a close rapport with the children and address problems if and when they occur by regular Class visits and Interaction with students.
  • FOR STAFF& PARENTS :

  • * The Counsellors interact closely with class teachers for updates on student facing problems, to help them.
  • * School also provides an Expert assistance, by way of helping parents and staff through student and parent counselling.

SPECIAL ATTENTION FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS :

  • * School ensures that students with special needs get due attention and care.
  • * Periodic sensitization and awareness talks on disabilities and special needs of children are conducted for the entire school staff including administrative staff and support staff, to ensure safety of students in this category.
