Q 1. Why the plan to set up Dr. Vijaypat Singhania School?

A Dr. Vijaypat Singhania believes in providing quality education to children. With more than 45 years of experience in the Educational sector, there is an aim and vision to create more and more schools across the nation to provide holistic (scholastic and non-scholastic) education and experiential learning to our future generation which will prepare them to acquire skills and face challenges with dignity and pride.


Q 2. Is there a need to create another school here ?

A Yes, good schools are necessary to create responsible citizens for our country.


Q3. When will the school building be completed?

A The school building will be completed by end-April 2014 and will be ready for occupation by end-May 2014.


Q4. Which Education Board will you have? What is the curriculum?

AWe will be affiliated to the Indian Council of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The Council is progressive & child-centered and offers a flexible curriculum with a wide range to disciplines to choose from. The children will be provided holistic education, knowledge and skills that follows an integrated curriculum.
We will be following our In-house curriculum that teachers of Singhania School, Thane, have designed, based on age & competencies required at each age group. Skill-set development will be given equal weight age.


Q5. Do you have previous experience in this field?

AYes, we run two schools, as follows : Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School at Thane, Maharashtra, set up in 1969. This school has been ranked 6th in the country, 2nd in Maharashtra and 2nd in Mumbai, and has an excellent academic track record of bringing out 2 toppers in the country within a span of 4 years.
We also run the Kailashpat Singhania School at Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, a 14-year old institution which follows the CBSE Curriculum.


Q6. Will it be a regular school or a boarding school?

ADr. Vijaypat Singhania will be a regular school carrying the motto of no-bags, no lunch bags and no homework.

Q8. Will this school offer bus pick up and drop service to its students?

AYes.The school will make transportation arrangements.


Q9. Will this school offer food to its students?

AYes, for parents who wish to avail of this facility. The lunch provided to students will be purely vegetarian and will be highly nutritive.

ADMISSIONS / ACADEMIC :

Q1. When is the school going to commence?

AThe school will commence in the 2nd week of June 2014.


Q2. How many students will be there in the school?

AThe school will come up in two phases.Each phase will have 1300 students.


Q3. How many students will you admit in the first year?

A1300 maximum


Q4. When are you starting the admission process?

AWe will start admissions from 2nd January 2014.


Q5. Do you have any quota system for the admissions?

AThe school believes in transparency in all its processes. There are no reservations.

AWe are in the process of selecting the best in the field of education and would ensure that the incumbent iscapable of providing academic and administrative leadership.


Q7. What will be the student ratio?

AThe student ratio would be 35:1


Q8. Where will you get the teachers from ? Will you be hiring trained teachers?

ATeachers will be recruited locally based on their qualifications and experience. The parent school will conduct workshops and training regularly for the newly recruited teachers.


Q9. What will be the mode of selection of students?

AThe admissions committee will meet the parents and the children.


Q10. What would be the school timings?

ATimings For Classes :
Pre Primary - 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 a.m.
I to X - 7.50 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
Break-Timings :
Short Break - 9.30 a.m. to 9.50 a.m. Long Break - 12.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
extra curricular activities - 2.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
This facility of staying back for extra curricular activities is optional. Parents who do not want their wards to stay-back for extra-curricular activities can avail the transportation facilities at 2.00 p.m. to ply their wards back home.


Q11. What are the kind of sporting facilities that you will provide?

AOutdoor games like cricket, football, basket ball, athletic track, etc. are on the charts. Indoor games will comprise of carom, TT, chess, Badminton. In addition, coaching in skating will also be provided.


Q12. What are the kind of cultural activities that you will provide?

AWe offer art, craft, music, dance, cookery, pottery, gardening, work experience and cultural competitions.
